Description
The Army Contracting Command, Joint Munitions & LethalityContracting Center, Joint Armaments Center, on behalf, of the US Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is seeking potential sources that are capableof providing a high performance Tritium Air Portable Survey Monitor. The Tritium Air Portable Survey Monitor needs to be rugged, lightweight, and built solidly enough to perform its intended functions. The maximum weight for the lightweight aluminum carrying case should be no greater than 6 lbs. There must be an LCD readout with no zero controls and no undesirable noise. The monitor should take less then 3minutes to warm up after applying power to the unit. There should be an internal pump that would suck in the exposed air and measure low levels of airborne tritium. The monitor should show exceptional rapid response time. There should be variable acoustical and visual alarm accuracy, fast and stable drift free measurements ranging from 1 - 199.99 MBq/m3 with a sensitivity of 2 uCi/m3 in the presence of other radioactive gases, compensate for external gamma radiation even in substantial non uniform gamma fields, and be insensitive to radon interference. The unit should be powered by two D cell batteries or an external jack that will allow the unit to operate on AC power. The Tritium Air Portable Survey Monitor has to meet the Department of Transportation requirements for shipping the equipment with batteries to and from Tobyhanna Army Depot for calibration and must maintain its calibration during transit. The unit also must meet or exceed military standards. Any other specific and pertinent information as pertains to this particular area of procurement that would enhance our consideration and evaluation of the information submitted, is also requested.
