- Statement of Work Engineering Services in Support of USCG FRC-B Loads Prediction Validation The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for Engineering Services to conduct model tests required to validate VERES-LES and WASIM-2DBEM predictions for hydrodynamic loading and hydro-elastic response of the FRC-B cutters. It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole source contract shall be awarded as a result of this announcement to Marintek. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) who has also developed loads prediction techniques for predicting impact loading on high speed naval vessels including the WASIM and 2DBEM computer programs. All model tests must be in accordance with the attached Statement of Work. It is the Government’s belief that only Marintek/DNV possesses the capability to provide the required engineering services; however, other potential sources can submit information concerning their ability to provide the services. Information submitted must include (1) experience/past performance confirming capabilities to provide said services, including verification analysis tool to be utilized; (2) Data that the offered service has been provided to the Government and/or the OEM. The solicitation will be released on or about July 6, 2009 on FedBizOpps. Contractors shall continue to monitor FedBizOpps for its release. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN SEVEN (7) CALENDAR DAYS OF THE DATE THIS NOTICE IS PUBLISHED. Information received after this date shall not be considered. The submission of this data for review shall not impede award of this acquisition as planned. The Government does not intend to pay for information solicited. This synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 and HSAM 3006.302-1.
