- The Asheville VAMC, NC is pre-soliciting qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses in construction to provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and supervision to Repair Domestic Water System at the Asheville VAMC, NC. All work shall be completed within 150 days after notice to proceed, which includes 60 days allowance for submittals. The NAICS code is 238220; small business size is $14M. The estimated dollar amount of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Expect the solicitation to be posted with uploaded drawings and specifications on/or about 17 Jul 09. No hard copies provided. Pre-bid/walk-through is scheduled for 22 Jul 09 at 1000hrs, only one will be offered at the same time to all interested parties and will be at bldg. 15, 3rd floor, rm 330. Bid opening will be on/or about 17 Jul 09 and the deadline for receipt of questions is 10 days prior. Firms must be registered at Central Contractor Registry and at Vet Biz and Online Representations and Certifications must be completed by each bidder prior to the bid opening. Specifics on the project are as follows: This project will repair or replace the domestic water system around the outside of the medical center and the pipe feeding into the medical center, as well as the fire protection loop around the outside of the VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Work will involved replacing exterior water valves, section of pipe, and remove and replace fire hydrants. All work is exterior to the building. Work includes excavating and removing old pipe and valves and installing new. Contractor will be responsible for underground utility location where they are to dig. All work will be in accordance with professionally developed drawings and specifications.
