Description
This Request For Proposal (RFP) is for construction of a building addition to the Truck Inspection Building at the US Border Station Land Port of Entry, Interstate 95, Houlton, Maine. The work will include but is not limited to removing portion of existing reinforced masonry building including foundation. Removal of asphalt concrete pavement, underground utilities, wood timber wall and granite curb. Construction of a reinforced masonry building addition with steel joist roof, TPO roof system, aluminum entrances, storefronts and windows, pavement, concrete walks, landscaping, building insulation, interior metal stud partitions, architectural finished, sprinkler, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems. The contract will have a performance time of 290 days with an anticipated construction start date of Fall 2009. This project is solicited for Small Business HubZone Set-Aside under the Small Business Demonstration Program. The estimated price is between $1 M - $5M. NAICS code is 236220. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 million. Estimated issue date of this RFP is on or about July 22, 2009. All individuals working on this project will be required to obtain security clearances. The approach to source selection for this procurement represents the best value to the government in accordance with price and technical evaluation factors. The solicitation will require offerors to submit a technical and price proposal. The technical evaluation factors for the evaluation process are as follows, listed in descending order of importance: 1) Past Performance, 2) Technical approach to accomplish the work. The solicitation, including drawings and specifications, will be issued on www.fedteds.gov via a hyperlink on www.fedbizops.gov. In order to access the solicitation documents, interested contractors must complete the FedTeds vendor registration at http://www.fedteds.gov. Instructions and information on how to become registered in FedTeds are available on the FedTeds website. Contractors are responsible for printing the solicitation and all related documents. It is the contractor’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of the solicitation, any amendments and related information.
