Description
The Asheville VAMC, NC is pre-soliciting qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses in construction to provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and supervision to Renovate the Community Living Center at the Asheville VAMC, NC. All work shall be completed within 240 days after notice to proceed, which includes 60 days allowance for submittals. The NAICS code is 236220; small business size is $33.5M. The estimated dollar amount of this procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Expect the solicitation to be posted with uploaded drawings and specifications on/or about 17 Jul 09. No hard copies provided. Pre-bid/walk-through is scheduled for 23 Jul 09 at 1000hrs, only one will be offered at the same time to all interested parties and will be at bldg. 15, 3rd floor, rm 330. Bid opening will be on/or about 17 Aug 09 and the deadline for receipt of questions is 10 days prior. Firms must be registered at Central Contractor Registry and at Vet Biz and Online Representations and Certifications must be completed by each bidder prior to the bid opening. Specifics on the project are as follows: This project will repair or replace the domestic water system around the outside of the medical center and the pipe feeding into the medical center, as well as the fire protection loop around the outside of the VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Work will renovate the 1st and 2nd floor nurse station/nourishment area for a patient living area. Work on each floor includes, but not limited to, removing the existing nurse station and demolition of the existing nourishment station. New construction includes constructing a living area consisting of stone fireplace, built-in bookshelves, flat screen TV area, sitting area with columns and wingwalls. Construction includes a two-seat reception area, open nourishment (kitchenette) area with seating. Work includes flooring, ceiling, sheetrock/metal stud walls, relocation of nurse call, relocation of med gas panel, relocation of patient wander system, data outlets, electrical outlets, lighting, and modification of HVAC supply/return grills and ductwork. All work will be in accordance with professionally developed drawings and specifications.
