- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in the FAR, Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. An RFQ can be requested by fax or e-mail to the attention of Frances Lara as listed in this notice. The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Salinas, California, has a requirement to procure a customized cultivator. The mission of the US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Crop Improvement and Protection Research Unit is to facilitate sustainable production of vegetable, sugar, fruit and ornamental crops thorugh basic and applied research. This cultivator will kill weeds on the non-crop areas of four 40" wide beds and used to break up the surface of the soil The cultivator will attach to the back of a tractor using a Category ll Quick Hitch. The following are the requirements for a rear customized cultivator for furrows and bed tops of four 40" wide beds including the following components: Must be set up to cultivate 2 plant rows on 4, 40" beds. 5"x7"x14" tool bar, 14' long with Category 2 hook up. Five long pipe gang assemblies attached to bar with 3 spider gangs on left and right each. Floating bed top frames with six 1 1/2" diamond bars. Two guide cone assemblies and clamps. Five rear pipe gang furrow chissel and sweep assemblies. Four squirell cages for bed top frames and clamps; four right and four left side knives and clamps for bed top frames; four right and four left discs for clamps for bed top frames; four right and four left top knives and clamps for bed top frames. All firms or individuals responding must be registed with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
