- Notice of Intent Reference: # 2009-72731 The National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention Global AIDS Program (GAP) of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract, in accordance with FAR 13, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Becton Dickinson Diagnostic Systems, 7 Loveton Circle Sparks, MD, 21552. Becton Dickinson Diagnostic Systems will provide BD MFIT media, reagents, antibiotics and necessary equipment that will enable the Clinical/OI Team of the International Lab Branch of Global AIDS Program to perform TB liquid culture and drug susceptibility testing (DST) to support PEPFAR countries. Becton Dickinson Diagnostic Systems appear to be the only vendor that manufactures and sells media and reagents for the Bactec MGIT 960 instrument. There are no other commercially available products that are FDA approved to be used with the MGIT 960 instrument. No Request for Quotes (RFQ) will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. This advertisement ends in 15 days accordance with FAR 5.203 (A) (1).Any interested companies are welcome to submit their ability to provide these reagents, media and antibiotics via e-mail, gqq4@cdc.gov.
