- **************CONTACT JANET APPLETON ONLY CONCERNING QUESTIONS REGARDING THISSYNOPSIS. CONTACT INFORMATION IS WITHIN THE BODY OF THISANNOUNCEMENT**********************NASA/MSFC has a requirement for Real-Time Environment for Modeling, Integration, andSimulation (ARTEMIS) development in support of the System Integration Lab (SIL) under theVehicle Integration project within the Ares I program.NASA/MSFC intends to sole source this procurement to Concurrent Computer Corporation as afollow on to the ARTEMIS software development system procurement. Concurrent ComputerCorporation's RedHawk real-time operating system is currently in use within the SIL andany subsequent real-time systems must be compatible with this operation system.Re-verification or redesign requirements would result in significant labor costs andschedule delays. The real-time systems and the peripheral items associated with therequirement must be purchased as an integrated solution from Concurrent ComputerCorporation so that the performance can be guaranteed and compatibility with existingreal-time systems maintained.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 7/07/2009 to Janet Appleton at janet.l.appleton@nasa.gov or fax to 256-544-6560. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
