Description
PHASE III - BLACKWOOD CANYON CREEK CHANNEL AND FLOODPLAIN GEOMORPHIC PROCESS RESTORATION – PROJECT REACHES 6 & 1 In accordance with F.A.R. 6.302-1, the U.S Forest Service intends to award a contract to Waterways Consulting, Inc., 500 Seabright Avenue, Ste 202, Santa Cruz, CA 95062-3480 for $30,812.00. This work is a follow-on to an existing contract to cover the final science and engineering services required to complete design and implementation services as follows: 1) Complete survey, staking, and engineering field services for reach 6 during project implementation, 2) Meet with head scientist and engineer in the field to make adjustments to the construction plan and sequencing for reach 6, 3) Complete plans and specifications for project reach 1. Tasks for Reach 6 Field meeting Additional tasks for reach 6 are for LTBMU Restoration staff to meet with SH&G science and engineering staff to review the effects of the spring floods and make adjustments to the construction approach. The Government estimates this will require one-day of field work and 1 ˝ days of office work to process the results of the meeting in a design and existing field conditions memo prepared by the Contractor. Survey-staking-engineering services In the summer of 2009 the contractor will need to complete survey staking and layout for the final 70 percent of project reach 6. The Government is also requiring two field visits by the Contractor to finalize an as-built survey for quality control purposes. Tasks for Reach 1 Tasks to complete Reach 1 Plans are •Complete 60-percent plans to 90-percent level •Respond to restoration staff and LTBMU line officer comments and on 90- percent level plans. •Incorporate changes to 90 percent plans •Deliver 100-percent plans to FS
