THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W91A2K-9173-1030. Under the authority of FAR 13.5, the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Southwestern Industries, Inc. of Compton CA, to purchase a TRAK DPMSX3 milling machine. Southwestern Industries, Inc. possesses unique instrumental equipment and proprietary rights for the manufacturing of these milling machines. The Natick Soldier Systems Center (SSC) shop workforce is familiar with the programming language of Southwestern machines and the other CNC milling machines within the shop are Southwestern. Purchasing other than a Southwestern machine would require additional training for shop personnel, which could be costly. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, via e-mail at jonathan.lehmann@us.army.mil. no later than 16 March 2009, 12:00 pm EST.
