- Revised SECTION 05 01 50 Revised SECTION 01 30 00.10 Revised SECTION 01 22 00.00 10 Amendment 0003 to W911WN-09-B-0006 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a requirement to repaint the Braddock and Charleroi Lock and Dam Tainter Gates, Monongahela River, PA. The major features of the required work consist of cleaning, sandblasting, and painting three movable-crest tainter gates, two nonoverflow tainter gates, and two emergency bulkhead units at Charleroi Locks and Dam and portions of four nonoverflow tainter gates at Braddock Locks and Dam. The work also includes repair of damaged closure plates on the bottom units of the movable-crest gates. The work also includes thermal-spray metallizing of the upstream, bottom, and interior surfaces of the gates with 85-15 zinc-aluminum. The interior of the movable-crest gates have lead-containing primer in some areas. The paint systems to be used are moisture-cure urethane. The magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. This procurement will be advertised on an unrestricted basis. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately June 3, 2009 on-line only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.
