Description
The project consists of removing all vegetative material and excavation of a 35-foot wide working platform area along the proposed centerline of the slurry trench. The slurry trench is to be excavated from this platform consisting of a 3-foot wide by 90-foot deep excavation. The excavated material will be placed riverside of the working platform in the provided ROW as shown on the Drawings 2 through 4 which varies in width but averages approximately 120 feet from the centerline of the trench. This area will also be stripped of all vegetative material before beginning excavation of the trench. The excavated material is to be mixed with bentonite and placed back in the excavated trench to form a permanent seepage cutoff wall. The disturbed areas during construction will be fertilized and seeded upon completion of the seepage cutoff wall (slurry trench). This seepage control project is located in Alexander County, Illinois beginning at Levee Station 4/50+00 on the Main Line Levee and proceeding to Levee Station 6/17+00.There are eleven (11) sheets in the set of drawings. This project will be an Unrestricted Procurement with HubZone Price Evaluation Preference for small business concerns. For the purpose of this procurement to qualify as a small business concern, in addition to being independently owned and operated and not dominate in the field of operation in which it is bidding on Government contracts, the concern must have had average annual sales receipts for the preceding three fiscal years not exceeding $33.5 million. The supplies or services to be procured in this solicitation are classified under NAICS 237990. This estimated cost of the proposed work is between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. Solicitation will issue on/about 17 July 2009 and bid opening date will be on/about 18 August 09.
