Description
This amendment is to provide responses to all questions received by the questions deadline. All other terms and conditions of this notice remain unchanged. Q1. What type of information will you be providing for the construction of the Hokule'a Canoe scale model, if any? A1. NLM is providing only the overall scale requirements and overall length, width, and height of the Hokule'a scale model. The vendor is expected to obtain or prepare detailed design and construction specifications. Q2. Is it possible to visit the site where the Hokule'a canoe is located, to study it in detail? A2. The full size voyaging canoe Hokule'a when not at sea is moored at the Marine Education and Training Center (METC), Honolulu Community College, Honolulu, HI, see http://honolulu.hawaii.edu/map/metc.html and http://www.hokuleawwv.org/education/marine-education-training-center. Permission to board would need to be obtained, contact METC and Polynesian Voyaging Society, http://pvs.kcc.hawaii.edu/. Q3. In case of it being possible: Where is the Hokule'a Canoe? A3. See METC web site for location info, http://honolulu.hawaii.edu/map/metc.html. Q4. Please could you re-confirm the size of the model to be one sixth scale. Such a scale would mean 10 feet and 33 inches. A4. The scale is 2 inches to the foot, which is 2/12 or 1/6 scale. Assuming the full size Hokule'a is 62 feet long, then the 1/6 scale model would be 10 feet 4 inches long.
