Description
Synopsis: RECOVERY—THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. This opportunity is available only to the United Auto Workers – Labor Employment and Training Corporation (UAW-LETC) under contract number DOLJ089626806. The requirement is for revision of the UAW-LETC programs provided at Job Corps centers to include green training as follows: 1.Production of a pre-determined number of green graduates by June 30, 2010 targeting at employment with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) dealerships and independent automotive service providers through UAW-LETC’s nationwide connections with these entities and its status as a registered apprenticeship program with the U. S. Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship. 2.Development and implementation of green Training Achievement Records (TARs) for all the specialty areas that UAW-LETC is contracted to teach. The green TARs include a new “Green Awareness” module, new green theory and practices, and highlighting existing TAR line items that are already green in nature. All the green elements must be based on applicable green skills and/or training standards sponsored by nationally-recognized industry or labor accreditation entities. 3.Establishment of a new UAW-LETC program in the Boston Region. 4.Increase slots for existing UAW-LETC advanced automotive training programs in the Philadelphia and Dallas Regions. 5.Provision of new instructional materials, equipment, tools, and consumable supplies in support of the above-referenced green TARs. 6.Instructor training for green technology instruction and their attainment of relevant green certifications. 7.Any potential and additional funding area for UAW-LETC in support of green to be agreed to by UAW-LETC and the U.S. Department of Labor.
