- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, Grand Canyon Monitoring & Research Center, Flagstaff, AZ, has a requirement for a brand name or equal water quality monitoring system, comparable to the Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. Model Number 25, Sealogger CTD, to conduct water-quality profiling in Lake Powell. A conductivity, temperature and depth (CTD) profiler is sought. These instruments pump water at a constant rate over various sensors and are able to collect many readings per second. A water-quality profile can therefore be collecterd lowering the profiler through the depth of the reservoir and retrieving it at a constant rate. This results in the ability to collect a full profile in a fraction of the time that it would take to collect a discrete profile. In addition to having sensors for conductivity, temperature and depth, this system is required to have sensors for dissolved oxygen, pH, ORP, turbidity, and chlorophyll.
