- ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS TABLET/CAPSULE COUNTER 1.SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: A.This unit is used to automatically count out tablets/capsules for filling prescriptions. B. The unit must operate from a source line voltage of 110 VAC + 10%, 60 + 2 Hz. C. The unit shall be a compact, light weight automated tablet/capsule counter (less than 10 pounds) (less than 11 in. X 10 in. X 13 in.). D. The unit shall be capable to accurately count 99.97% tablets and capsules encountered in military pharmacies. E. The unit shall have means for adjusting the counter for various tablet/capsule sizes. F. The unit shall be capable of filling multiple prescriptions for Single, Multiple, Prepackaging & Inventory G. The unit shall be supplied with the following accessories: (1) Standard drawer, (2) Funnel drawer, (3) Foot switch for resetting count and, (4 )Spare wiper arm. H. The unit shall have a means for setting the desired quantity of tablets/capsules to be counted at a rate of approximately 500 Tablets per Minute. 2. MANUALS. Two operators and two service manuals shall be provided with the product to the consignee. Both manuals shall comply with the criteria presented in Attachment I. 3. REPAIR PARTS: When responding to a request for quote, the offeror shall submit a list of high mortality spare parts in accordance with Attachment II. 4. COPYRIGHT RELEASE: The manufacturer will agree to a limited copyright release to allow the DOD to reproduce any and all material furnished under this contract for use in military service training programs and technical publications 5.
