- Description
- Turkish translation of synopsis RFP SP4520-09-R-0002 requires a service contract for the inspection, packaging/repackaging, loading unloading, containerization, removal, transportation, storage, recycling, reuse, recovery, treatment and disposal of hazardous and regulated substances located in U.S. Military installations in Turkey at Incirlik, Ankara, and Izmir. The majority of the hazardous and regulated waste will be generated at Incirlik. The removals of waste from Ankara and Izmir will only be requested in conjunction with removals scheduled for Incirlik. SP4520-09-R-0002 will be issued on or around July 10, 2009. The approximate closing date is August 10, 2009. This solicitation will result in an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity type contract being awarded to one contractor. This contract will have an 18 months base period plus two 18 months option periods. Performance will be requested by issuance of written Delivery/Task Orders against the basic contract. Qualifications: Prospective contractor or subcontractor must be able to perform in accordance with the respective Turkish environmental laws and regulations, as well as with any applicable international agreement governing the transportation of dangerous goods, and the May 1989 Basel Convention on the control of transboundary movements of hazardous/regulated substances and their disposal. These standards apply not only to the country in which the waste is generated and disposed, but also any transient countries through which the waste is transported, including the United States of America. The contractor is responsible for researching, arranging and making any necessary contacts to verify all transportation methods and routes proposed. The final contract award decision will be based on the combination of price and other factors described in the solicitation. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted.
