- Description
- The contractor involves reconstruction and repair, as needed, along the existing Cascade Falls Trail #32055 (approximately 3,000 feet), on the Cedar City Ranger District, Dixie National Forest, Utah. Work includes trail bed restoration, rolling dip construction, removal of existing timber structures, stream ford construction, timber crib wall and step construction, puncheon construction, observation deck construction, and excavation in mineral soil and bedrock. Blasting may be necessary on some sections of reconstruction and construction. Helicopters and rock drills are approved for the mobilization of equipment and materials and for blasting on this project. Completion of an Aviation Schedule will be required and the responsibility of the Contractor. For restrictions on helicopters, blasting, and other motorized trail construction equipment: Blasting shall be done by a state and federally licensed blaster and will be responsible for all other permits now required to perform explosive work inaccordance with current Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) regulations. Refer to the ATF Internet web site www.atf.gov for detailed information on federally required permits. This solicitation is planned to be uploaded to this same website on July 9, 2009 and proposals will be due August 10, 2009 @ 4:30 p.m. MST. There will be a site visit scheduled the last week of July (check solicitation for date, time, and where to meet).
