- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Intramural Research Program (IRP) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with the Leica Microsystems, Inc., 2345 Waukegan Road, Bannockburn, IL for a Leica EM UC7 Microscope, Universal specimen holder UY, Flat specimen holder FT, Knurled head allen key 3mm, Instrument table with top 0.67 x 1.15 m shock-absorbing elements ergonomic shaped arm rests, Drawer unit with top 0.67 x 0.43 m with drawers for left or right side use, S6E Stereo microscope complete with zoom objective 0.63-4.0x widefield eyepieces WF 16x with eyecups, Advanced-touch-sensitive-control unit 10.4 display cutting speed control from 0.05 to 100mm/sec in 35 steps, Advance control from 1nm to 100m in steps of 1nm, from 100 to 2500nm in steps of 10nm and from 2500 to 1500nm in steps of 500nm.. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition FAR 13 and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this notice. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
