- The purpose of this synopsis is for the Naval Air Systems Command and the AV-8B Harrier Joint Program Office (PMA 257) to announce its intent to contract for F402-RR-408A/B Pegasus Engines Blendable Borescope Repair Services (NAICS code 336412) under a full and open commercial competition in support of the AV-8B Harrier Program. This is not a formal Request for Proposal (RFP). The overall purpose of the Blendable Borescope requirement is to blend/repair Pegasus engine blades damaged by Foreign Object Damage (FOD) in support of the AV-8B Harrier Program. A Sources Sought notice was posted to FEDBIZOPS on 20 March 2009 under the title “Borescope Blending Repair Services for repair of installed F402-RR-406B and F402-RR-408A/B engines on the AV-8B Harrier” with a solicitation number of N00019-09-P1-PF047. It is the Government’s intent to award a single Firm Fixed Price type commercial contract to the offeror who provides the best overall value to the Government. It is anticipated that the final RFP (N00019-09-R-0240) will be available through the NAVAIR solicitation homepage, http://www.navair.navy.mil, approximately 23 June 2009. This office will e-mail a notification of release of the solicitation and any amendments to all prospective offerors that submit a request to register for this information via e-mail. Requests for inclusion on the e-mail solicitation release list should be sent to Ms. Pat Morris (Contract Specialist) via e-mail at fitzpatrick.morris@navy.mil. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be mailed. All responses must be sent via email and must include the following information: (1) Company Name; (2) Company Address; (3) Company Business Size; (4) Point of Contact (POC) Name, telephone number, fax number, and email address. Internet responses without this information will not be accepted. Phone and fax requests for a copy of the solicitation will not be accepted.
