- Question: Is there anything that you can add to the description? How durable? Answer: Description listed is generic to promote innovative solutions by vendors and ensure we are not promoting a single brand. As for durability, this will not be anything that will be pushed out of the back of a fixed wing-aircraft nor sling-loaded on a rotary-wing aircraft. It simply needs to fit within the MAXIMUM dimensions for a 463L aircraft pallet. It should be made out of a more durable material than your average refrigerator/cooler/freezer that one can buy at the appliance store. I anticipate that the majority of its lifespan will be spent sitting in our Air Force warehouse plugged into an A/C outlet. But, its other purpose it to be deployed to an austere environment and plugged into a generator for anywhere from three months to one year or longer. More than likely this would include triple-digit summer temperatures and below freezing winter temperatures. It would then need to stand the rigors of palletization and then flying back the home unit.
