- The US Forest Service has asked Western Federal Lands Highway Division to consider adding 0.7 mile of road improvement work for Forest Road 42 (FR 42) to an existing contract by Contract Modification. Project OR PFH 124-1(1) Beaver Creek Road (highway construction project), Contract Number DTFH70-09-C-00005, was awarded to Tidewater Contractors of Brookings, Oregon on May 1, 2009. The work under consideration for addition is immediately adjacent to and connects to the Beaver Creek Road project. This notice is being issued to identify potential prime contractors that would be interested in bidding the additional work if it were solicited under a sealed bid procurement. FR 42 is located at approximately milepost 7.5 north on the Beaver Creek Road, beginning at the Beaver Creek junction. The work includes clearing/grubbing, excavation, embankment, aggregate base, drainage, cattle crossing, and paving. The magnitude of the additional work is between $100,000 and $200,000. The current Beaver Creek Road construction contract will continue through the 2009 & 2010 season. Should the FR 42 road construction be competitively solicited as a new contract, all work under this proposed FR-42 improvement project will require coordination with Tidewater Contractors for access/etc. If your firm is interested in competing for this work under a sealed bid procurement, submit your interest by email to julee.mctaggart@dot.gov or by FAX (360) 619-7584 NO LATER THAN June 29, 2009.
