- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution Gilmer, WV, intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the provision of providing Instruction in Heavy Truck Repair /Vocational Training to the inmate population at the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Gilmer, located at 201 FCI Lane, Glenville, West Virginia. It is anticipated that this RFQ will result in an award of a single contract that shall consist of a 12 month base period with one 12 month option period for renewal. The Government contemplates the award of an indefinite-delivery, requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from the future solicitation. Award will be made to the responsible quoter who submits the most advantageous quote to the Government. The successful contractor will conduct nine (9) classes per week, with each class consisting of three (3) one hour sessions. Sessions are expected to be conducted on weekdays, Monday through Wednesday. The contract will not exceed 30 hours of contract services per week. The exact hours will be mutually agreed upon by the contractor and the Contract Monitor after contract award. A Government solicitation document to provide these services is currently being developed, and a contract may or may not result. The Contractor performing services is required to have a minimum of five years of documented instructional experience in the Automotive/Trucking Industry Vocational Training field, and have a program certified by the NATEF/ASE. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. All other qualifications and requirements will be detailed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be available on/about June 11, 2009, and will be distributed solely through this website. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The date for receipt of quotations is on/about July 9, 2009. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This will be a full and open competitive procurement. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered.
