- Description
- This is a notice of the Government's intent to extend the period of performance period and increase the contract dollar value for the current Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Information Analysis Center (CBRNIAC) contract. The contract is scheduled to expire 26 December 2009. The intent is to extend the present performance period up to 2 years from 27 December 2009 through 26 December 2011. If executed, the estimated value of the contract will be increased by $385M. The Government intends to negotiate with the incumbent contractor, Battelle Memorial Institute, on a sole-source basis. This extension will permit the continuation of performance of the current CBRNIAC contract while the requirement is recompeted. This is a non-commercial, Cost-Plus-Fix-Fee, Requirement, Research & Development contract that was awarded on a competitive basis. This is neither a Request for Proposal nor a solicitation of offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the Government's discretion. Information received by close of business 22 June 2009 will be considered by the government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
