- Draft Statement of Work The Department of Education (ED) is seeking 8A small business sources with all of the following areas of knowledge, capabilities and successful experience with provision of sign language and caption services: Sign Language interpreter services • Provide qualified interpreters with the ability to provide services in a variety of settings; to include one-on-one meetings located at the Department of Education, large or small group meetings both locally and regionally, and conferences (large or small) both locally and regionally. • Provide fulltime interpreters on-site able to fill ED sign language requests. Interpreters qualified in the following areas: - ASL interpreters - Oral interpreters - Transliteration (signing exact English, with or without oral) - Sign English Interpreters - Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs) Certifications accepted *NIC – National Interpreter Certification: Certified, Advanced and Master levels *CDI - Certified Deaf Interpreter *CI-Certificate of Interpretation *CT- Certificate of Transliteration *OTC –Oral Transliteration Certificate *SC:L – Specialist Certificate: Legal *CLIP-R – Conditional Legal Interpreting Permit-Relay *MCSC – Master Comprehensive Skills Certificate Caption Services • Provide qualified captioners with the ability to provide services in a variety of settings; to include one-on-one meetings located at the Department of Education, large or small group meetings both locally and regionally, and conferences (large or small) both locally and regionally. • Provide own equipment required to caption at various assignments. Certifications accepted National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) certified to include the following certifications. *Certified CART Provider (CCP) *Certified-Real-time Reporter (CRR) *Certified Verbatim Reporter (CVR) *Real-time Verbatim Reporter (RVR) *Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC) *Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) *Registered Merit Reporter *Registered Diplomate Reporter (RDR) Please see attached Draft Performance Work Statement. All interested parties may respond to this Request for Information by submitting a capability statement. Response are not to exceed six pages, double-spaced, and shall contain only substantive information. This Request for Information is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of ED to acquire any products or services. ED does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI nor pay for the information provided. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges will arise as a result of submission of responses to the RFI and ED's use of such information.
