Description
RECOVERY--THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE MEDICAL REPAIR AND RENEWAL (MRR) PROGRAM. The project is located at the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, Natick, Massachusetts. The project is to prepare a Design to Repair Sprinkler System, US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, Natick, Massachusetts. The design shall encompass space coverage classifications in the form of Light Hazard occupancies for the offices, laboratories and egress corridors, Ordinary Hazard Group 1 occupancies for the laboratories, mechanical rooms, and electrical rooms with transformers and switch gears, elevator machine room, elevator shafts and refrigeration service rooms or environmental chambers. The design shall also include Ordinary Hazard Group 2 occupancies for the medium hazard storage rooms, linen rooms, and boiler room at the mechanical roof penthouse. The sprinkler system shall be designed to reflect different smoke barrier and fire rating zones in the building and the new sprinkler line or risers shall be connected to the newly installed wet standpipes in the egress stairwells and include interconnections between water flow switch and the existing fire alarm system in the building. The Architectural Engineer (AE) shall provide design for Quick Response Sprinkler for the Environmental Control Chambers, Standard Response type for the Generator rooms, Electrical rooms, Elevator shafts, and machine room, and also Sidewall Sprinklers for the Elevator pit; and also to design the Sprinklers with the required cabinets and wrenches. The design shall be in accordance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA 13, NFPA 101, the latest Factory Mutual Engineering Corporation (FM), and International Building Code requirements. This architect and design effort is being awarded to the following multiple award task order contractor: W912DY-09-D-0001, Toland & Mizell Architects/Applied Engineering Solutions - Joint Venture.
