- TAS::57 3404::TAS ARRA XUMU 05-1091B, Repair 13th Street from Iceland Ave to California Blvd, fully funded by Recovery Act. The intent of this project is to repair 13th Street from Iceland Ave to California Blvd in VAFB, CA. General work will repair failed areas, concrete stabilization, and asphalt overlay. This project involves splitting up the project into 3 sections. (Sect.1) Iceland to New Mexico, (Sec.2) New Mexico to Nevada, (Sec.3) Nevada to California. Traffic control will be implemented at each intersection, with signs at each side street and driveways. Sec.1 Involves excavating out failed areas, conform grinding, 2"overlay, raise utilities, striping in-kind. Iceland to New Mexico: will repair failed areas, conform grind, 2"overlay, raise utilities, and stripe. New Mexico to Nevada: will repair failed areas, conform grind, Crack and Seat, 1" AC leveler, Petro-Mat fabric, and apply 2" overlay. Contractor will remove asphalt center turn pocket island and replace with in-kind island with yellow traffic paint, stripe back to original configuration. Contractor will install AC berm. Nevada to California: will repair failed areas, conform grind, Crack and Seat, 1" AC leveler with petromat fabric, and apply 2" overlay. Contractor will repair failed curb and gutter, install 2 handicap ramps @ Calif., replace DI storm drain, raise utilities, and traffic striping in-kind. During construction one half of 13th Street will be closed to thru traffic. This will allow traffic use of the opposite half of the roadway. Demolition Asphalt Construction will include: Removing damaged concrete curb & gutter; Removing failed asphalt; Grind 13th Street; Crack and Seat (concrete stabilization); Applying 1" leveler in sections 2 and 3; Applying 2" minimum asphalt overlay; Raise utilities and Applying striping to new pavement in original configuration. Concrete work will include; Form and cast new curb and gutter and Installing 2 handicap ramps.
