Description
The project will take place at the John Seiberling Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse at 2 South Main Street in Akron, OH 44308. The project shall consist mainly of repair, alteration, and/or expansion of existing office space on the second floor to include but not limited to: partial demolition; removing the old ceiling system in its entirety; providing 24” by 24” acoustical ceiling system; providing new lay-in and down lighting fixtures; providing new walls; partial reconfiguring of existing ductwork, diffusers, and programmable control system; providing material and labor; sealing and touch up; and coordinating all works and installations with the Government. The total usable square footage is approximately 5,925. The contractor will provide all management, supervision, manpower, equipment and supplies necessary for this project. Further, the prospective contractor must fully demonstrate their ability in renovating existing space at a commercial or government facility, in a manner that complies with Federal, State and local regulations and laws and within the time frames required. After award is made, the contractor’s performance will be monitored both on-site and through periodic performance evaluations, as required. The contract completion time for this project is 180 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. Performance, payment and bid bonds as well as a bid guarantee will be required. The estimated cost range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. This is a negotiated, best value procurement. The solicitation is open to all business concerns in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 236220 with a size standard of $31 million. The Request for Proposal will be issued on or about May 27, 2009. The solicitation cited above can only be obtained by accessing a secure website known as Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). FedBizOpps is designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. It is fully integrated with other electronic government initiatives such as the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. It is available for use by all Federal agencies. In order to obtain information from FedBizOpps, you will first be required to register with CCR. The Central Contractor Registration database is a part of the Business Partner Network, an e-gov initiative, and it will be used to validate vendor identity. Effective October, 1, 2003, all government contractors must be registered in CCR prior to receiving an award. You may access CCR via the following URL: http://www.bpn.gov. Once you have registered with CCR you will be required to register with FedBizOpps. No federal materials can be downloaded until you have registered under both sites. You may access FedBizzOpps via the following URL: https://www.fbo.gov. At a minimum, all vendors must supply the following information: Your Company’s Central Contractor Registration (CCR), Marketing Partner Identification Number (MPIN) [Note: You can obtain this from your Company’s CCR Point of Contact], your Company’s DUNS Number or CAGE Code [Contact Dun & Bradstreet at 1-800-333-0505 if you do not have a D&B Number], your telephone number, and your e-mail address. Any questions regarding this notification should be directed to the Contracting Officer whose name appears herein. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading the solicitation and monitoring the website for any amendments to the solicitation. All responsive offers from responsible offerors will be considered.
