Description
Request for Information (RFI): VA-101-09-RI-0187 ISO Standardization The Office of Medical Surgical Services / Patient Care Services, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Department of Veterans Affairs, is responsible for managing VHA's Supply, Processing and Distribution (SPD) services. The Department is planning for the acquisition of ISO standardization services to assist VHA in standardizing its policies and standard operating procedures for the use and maintenance of medical surgical equipment and sterile processing production using the International Standards Organization (ISO) guidelines. VHA has identified multiple capabilities and/or services that will be required of the ISO Standardization services provider and is issuing this Request for Information to enable vendors to submit capability statements. Capability statements will be used to assist VA in defining its statement of work and acquisition strategy as well as identify sources able to provide the services requested. VHA requires a Contractor that can provide the following services/capabilities: 1. Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for Medical Surgical equipment and Sterile Processing production in accordance with ISO guidelines (9000 series). Capability statements shall include information relative to qualifications and competencies of personnel. 2. Prepare and manage documentation and change control of SOPs, including the ability to sequester outdated documents. Capability statements shall include information relative to the contractor's mechanism for managing documentation and change control considering implementation of such solution will be at an enterprise level. 3. Support central standardization of manufacturer written instructions for set up, use and reprocessing of any medical device, including tracking and updating of changes to instructions as issued/released by the manufacturer. Compatibility with documentation and change control solution is desired. Capability statements shall address methods for centralizing and updating written instructions, as well as methods for sequestering outdated instructions. 4. Provide the ability to partner with Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Small Businesses, Women-Owned Small Businesses, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and Small Disadvantaged Businesses in performing the services identified. Included shall be information pertaining to successful achievement of subcontracting goals/plans on previous requirements. Interested vendors may submit their capabilities and qualifications to provide the services identified via email to Shaundra Duggans at Shaundra.Duggans@va.gov not later than 4:00 PM EST June 24, 2009. Vendors are asked to provide three past performance references for the capabilities identified. Include the Project title, Description of the project, Contract number, Contract amount, Government Agency/Organization and Point of Contact, and phone number/email address. Do you hold a GSA contract? If so, please identify Schedule and Contract number. Telephone inquiries will NOT be accepted. In addition to the provision of capabilities statements, an industry day(s) may be held to allow interested parties a chance to expand on their capabilities in a direct conversation with Government officials. All vendors interested in participating in an industry day (should one be held) shall include a statement in its cover letter indicating interest. All correspondence in reference to this notice shall be sent via email to the address identified and shall reference the RFI number and title in the subject line.
