Description
SOW RFQ This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service Southwest Region located in Long Beach, CA has a need to research methods to reduce the bycatch of sea turtles in gillnet fisheries to lower this threat to sea turtles locally and world wide and improve the recovery of this endangered and threatened species. This research needs to take place in an area where sea turtles are found in high abundance in order to reach significant results in a short amount of time. See attached detailed statement of work for complete description of services. All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a firm fixed contract with period of performance of twelve months plus one option year. It is anticipated that work will commence July 1, 2009. The government reserves the right to solicit offers based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. Only firms that can provide the exact services described herein will be considered.
