- TAS::57 3404::TAS ARRA XUMU 13-1022B, Replace Kitchen Floor, Bldg 13330, fully funded by Recovery Act. Work efforts for this project will consist of removal of approximately 300 square feet of existing floor tile, which will require the removal and replacement of kitchen equipment. Kitchen equipment and hardware shall be disconnected shut down temporarily from their electrical, heating and plumbing connections, removed and relocated to alternate area before demolition of flooring. Contractor will assure no utilities will be affected during demolition and repair efforts, verifying all drain traps within the construction zone are working properly prior to any work. Contractor will Demo/remove approximately 300 square feet of quarry tile as well as cements and adhesive materials underneath; include abatement removal for mold and mildew. Contractor to repair failed concrete surfaces underneath quarry tile level with concrete slab and remove and reinstall stainless steel kitchen floor mounted strip drain approximately 27 LF and provide applicable counter flashing and sealing material to prevent water from entering into joints and underneath the quarry tile. Contractor to provide and install new quarry tile to match existing, epoxy grout joints and seal the floor. Contractor to provide and install a sealant material that is heat resistant that can expand and contract without cracking surrounding the strip drain edge where the quarry tile butts up against it, or a suitable material that keep it's elasticity and prevent water from entering or seeping underneath the quarry tile.
