- Description
- Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock division Philadelphia, PA intends to acquire an aluminum-hulled vessel, the Marine Paint/Maintenance Barge. The Paint/Maintenance Barge will conform to all applicable requirements of the American Boat and Yacht Council and OSHA. The Maintenance Barge will be used specifically to enable painting and maintenance along the breadth and height of hulls of all submarines and surface ship classes and to prevent contact with their delicate appendages while berthing or mooring. This procurement will include the basic design and engineering of the barge, production of the initial marine pain/maintenance and options for the follow-on deliveries of barge. This procurement will be issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures pursuant to the Test for Certain Commercial Items in accordance with Subpart 13.5 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This procurement will be firm fixed price and awarded to the low price, technically acce! ptable offer. Upon its release, solicitation no N65540-09-R-0040 will be made available electronically at the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website: www.neco.navy.mil A hard copy of the solicitation will not be made available. Offerors shall be required to submit both price and technical proposal. Offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database to be considered for award. See www.ccr.gov for further instructions. The solicitation is expected to be released within thirty (30) days of this posting.
