- Description
- The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Laboratory of Receptor Biology and Gene Expression, plans to procure the services for characterization of global DNasel hypersensitive sites (DHS) by genome wide sequencing. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) and 13.501-(a)(1) using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial acquisitions. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541990 and the business size standard is $7.0M. The contractor shall generate large scale sequence reads (~6-8 million filtered reads/lane), using the recently developed Solexa sequencing system. The Solexa sequencing platform is a proprietary high-thru put sequencing methodology, also known as massively parallel signature sequencing (MPSS). This methodology has been developed by Solexa (Illumina). The contractor shall reliably prepare amplified PCR libraries based on the NCI supplied sample, and replace any failed library preps without further charge. Libraries are validated by the generation of a PCR product of 250-300 bp. This product should be homogenous and the only PCR product detectable on a gel. Primer dimmers or concatemer formation are indicative of poor libraries. Chromatin IP samples or DNA samples generated in different ways will be supplied by NCI. A total of 20 samples will be analyzed over a period of 5 months for the base year. A total of 40 samples will be analyzed over the course of a year for option year one. They are not supplied all at once. The contractor is required to have Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place and to follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Contractor Requirements: 1.Experience Three (3) years of experience in genome wide sequencing and analysis required. 2.Education The Laboratory Manager shall have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Mathematics required. The period of performance for all tasks shall be from July 20, 2009 or date of award, whichever is later for twelve months with one twelve month option period. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. Potential offerors may request a copy of the solicitation from Melissa Marino, Contract Specialist via electronic mail at marinome@mail.nih.gov or fax (301) 402-4513. If you have questions regarding this notice, they may be addressed to the aforementioned individual noted above. When submitting your request please include complete mailing address, DUNS number, point of contact name, email, phone and fax number. Estimated issued date of the solicitation is June 22, 2009 with an estimated due date of July 6, 2009. No collect calls will be accepted. In order to receive an award, contractors must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA).
