- NOTICE OF INTENT: The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, AL intends to award a purchase order (not to exceed three years) to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) The Shipley Group on a sole source basis. This requirement pertains to the development and instruction of a course entitled Environmental Writing and has an estimated value of less than $100,000.00. THIS IS NOT A FORMAL SOLICITATION. All responsible SDVOSB sources who feel they can provide the U.S. Army Engineering & Support Center, Huntsville, AL, with the requested services are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to the sources sought questionnaire as follows: SOURCES SOUGHT QUESTIONNAIRE 1. What is the name of your business? 2. What is your business address? 3. Is your firm a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concern according to NAICS code 611430? NOTE: Service Disabled veteran owned small business firms must submit BOTH the DD 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) and the discharge letter received from the VA as proof of their SDVOSB designation. 4. Do your current or proposed instructors (minimum of two) have experience in revising and presenting short courses on environmental writing during the past 3 years from the date of this announcement? If so, please identify your instructors and their qualifications and give details on dates, course title and nature of instruction. NOTE: The teaching experience of the instructors should include instructing adult learners in a work-related environment rather than an academic setting, and it should include teaching working adults representative of multiple generations, multiple learning styles, and a diversity of engineering, scientific, and other technical disciplines. 5. Do your current or proposed instructors (minimum of two) have working experience in the field of environmental writing as contrasted with teaching experience during the past 3 years from the date of this announcement? Examples of working experience can be consulting for clients or employment as environmental professionals for governmental or non-governmental organizations. If so, please give details on dates, client or employer, and nature of working experience for each instructor. Interested SDVOSB firms should submit a document which addresses the information requested in the sources sought questionnaire via email to contract specialist Chaquandra Wilson at Chaquandra.k.wilson@usace.army.mil. Submissions should be received by 02:00 PM CST on 15 June 2009 and should not exceed 5 pages. All such responses will be considered by the agency. NO HARD COPY OR FACSIMILE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Extraneous materials (brochures, manuals, etc) will not be considered. Questions concerning submissions should be directed to the contract specialist. If no written responses are received by 02:00 PM CST on 15 June 2009, the course development and instruction requirements stated above will be awarded to The Shipley Group on a sole source basis in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 19.1406(a)(1). NOTE: All interested SDVOSB concerns must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov) before they can be considered as potential sources for the efforts listed above.
