- The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-046W-S-09-0034 on or about June 23, 2009, for the Klickitat Rails to Trails Aggregate Base Placement project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after June 23, 2009 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The work consists of supplying and placing crushed aggregate base on the Klickitat Rail-to-Trails trail. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. The Government’s estimate is between $100,000 and $250,000. PROJECT LOCATION. The Klickitat Rails-to-Trails railbed roughly parallels the Klickitat River and SR 142 between Lyle and Klickitat, Washington. State route 142 junctions with SR-14 approximately 70 miles east of Vancouver, WA and approximately 13 miles west of The Dalles, OR. The work starts approximately 0.5 miles north of SR-14. The trail can be accessed using the access road to the county park located about one mile north of SR-14. PARTICIPATION. This project is a Total HUB-ZONE Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. Prospective bidders who wish to provide comments on the set-aside matter should provide these comments to the contracting officer on or before June 23, 2009. Indeed, all prospective bidders are invited to notify the contracting officer of their interest in the acquisition. FOR MORE INFORMATION.
