- This is a request for information only. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, is seeking information from industry for preliminary planning purposes. This is not a Request for Proposal and will be used to identify firms certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) as Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HubZone) business firms for the purpose of determining how the solicitation will be advertised. This sources sought announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or to award a contract. The anticipated procurement will be a firm fixed price contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO SUBMIT A BID ON THIS PROJECT WHEN IT IS FORMALLY ADVERTISED, PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT A RESPONSE TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: The work is located at East Branch Clarion River Dam near Wilcox in Elk County, Pennsylvania. The work consists of extending an existing two-lane concrete boat ramp, installation of the new electrical service to the existing gage house downstream of the dam, and cleaning and sealing joints in the concrete spillway lining. ESTIMATED RANGE OF CONSTRUCTION: $250,000 - $500,000 The official Synopsis citing the solicitation number will be issued on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at www.fbo.gov. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued no later than July 6, 2009. Firms interested in this work must respond and include the following information. Firm's name, address, point of contact, phone number and email address. Firm's bonding capability (construction bonding level per contract and aggregate construction bonding level, expressed in dollars). Are you an SBA certified HUBZone contractor?
