Description
The National Park Service at Roosevelt-Vanderbilt National Historic Site will issue solicitation Q1790090012 for masonry restoration and repairs to the terraces of the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt. NAICS code is 238140 and the size standard is $14 million. This is an unrestricted solicitation. All responsible offers will be considered. This solicitation will result in a firm fixed price construction contract. Davis Bacon prevailing wages will apply. Magnitude of construction is $25,000 - $100,000. Solicitation will be available on or about June 23, 2009 and can be downloaded from http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Another source for information pertaining to this procurement is www.fedbizopps.gov. Estimated time of completion is 90 days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. A pre-bid site visit will be held, see solicitation package for date and time. Questions related to this procurement should be e-mailed to the contracting officer. Telephone requests for information or copies of solicitation package will not be accepted. Work will consist of: Repairs to the terrace on the east elevation. This includes the temporary removal of wood balustrade during masonry work, with reinstallation. Masonry work includes removing existing pavers to establish level setting bed, raking of deteriorated mortar joints, reinstallation of stone pavers, pointing mortar joints. The terrace steps: remove steps, preparation of substrate, and reinstall steps. Option #1 is masonry work on the terrace retaining walls on the east elevation, and includes masonry restoration including raking and repointing rubble stone walls, temporary removal of balustrade and reinstallation. Verification of existing PVC drains that exit at mid-level. Option #2 is masonry restoration of stone steps at the Loggia, east elevation: removal of stone steps, preparation of setting bed, resetting stone steps to a consistent rise/run ratio, and final cleaning. Option #3 is masonry restoration to stone pavers at the Porch on the south elevation. Work includes raking, repointing, and cleaning of stone pavers.
