- Vendor Question #1 Vendor A [NAME Redacted] is a SDVOSB distributor of laboratory equipment and supplies. A question from reviewing your solicitation is whether the government would accept a distributor of the product. "YES" The specifications seem to require a manufacturer only who is ISO9001 certified. We have many sterilizer models available from the leading manufacturers. Our capabilities in this area are extensive, and the quick-scan introduction attached may help convey some of our capabilities. Please advise. Thank you very much. The ISO9001 requirement is to be removed from the Statement of Work for all vendors. Vendor Question #2 In order to more fully prepare a quotation for the Solicitation HU0001-09-T-0005, for a steam sterilizer, I need to ask a few questions: Must this unit be new, or will a refurbished/remanufactured unit be acceptable? I would say that it has to be "new" because it would present an unfair advantage to competing vendors who are unable to produce something remanufactured. The solicitation spells out that the unit should be "... 64" H x 23" W x 29" D. Unit must not exceed 24" in width due to space limitations at the location of installation." We have a Push button unit for a 20x20x38 with the exterior dimensions of: 65"h x 28"w x 33" Length-can we use this as an acceptable alternative? This is a mistake. It should have read: 34" because the doorway leading into the room gives a clearance of only 34". What we don't want is a side-mounted control box that would take up more width than the unit itself. We want top-mounted or a face mounted control panel. Must the manufacturer be ISO 9001 certified? NO! Do you need a cart and carriage? NO! Do you need an old unit disconnected and removed? NO! Please affirm that you do not need installation and that you will accept delivery of the unit to your location. We do not require installation or delivery to the room, just delivery to the Loading Dock. We have Electricians, Plumbers, and Bio-Medical Maintenance Technicians who can carry out the installation. The offer should only bid on the raw purchase and nothing else. The specification calls for all stainless steel? Are you running RO/Di water to the unit? "NO" If you are, then you would need all stainless steel construction for the chamber, jacket and including piping- which is significantly more expensive. If you are not going to run RO/Di water through the unit, then we have a unit that has an all stainless steel chamber with a carbon steel jacket, and stainless steel cabinet mounting, is that acceptable? "YES"
