- Description
- The work of this contract consists of reconditioning Natural Bridges National Monument's sole 50,000 gallon potable water storage tank and associated piping and valves. The steel water tank measures: 27'diameter, 13'height, "wall and floor thickness, and 3/16"roof thickness. Work will include abrasive blasting, cleaning, and coating all interior tank surfaces. The tank will also require the following work: new ladder with cage, guardrails off top of ladder, replace 24" access hatch with 30" access hatch, add secondary 30" manway at base of tank, and replace existing roof tank vent with a goose neck vent. Work of this contract will also include replacing all valves in the tank valve vault and replacing all valves and piping in the chlorination room. During this work the Contractor shall provide Natural Bridges with a continuous supply of water via a Contractor supplied temporary water tank. The Contractor shall also provide a one year anniversary test of the tank coating, via a licensed diver. The exterior of the tank has been coated with two inch thick spray foam, which is generally in good shape. Refurbishing of the spray foam exterior, including areas where foam must be removed to attach new tank accessories, will take place under another contract after this work is completed. The work is located at Natural Bridges National Monument headquarters. Natural Bridges is located 35 miles west of Blanding Utah on highway U-95 and 4 miles northwest on U-275. Period of performance for this contract is 45 calendar days.The National Park Service anticipates entering into a firm fixed-price contract with a performance period of 45 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. This solicitation is set aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code for this project is 238320 with a small business size standard of $14 million. In accordance with FAR Section 36.204, the estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Contractors are urged to visit the site for a complete understanding of existing work conditions.
