- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for Polytec System software maintenance, computerhardware upgrade, and software/hardware training, 1 Job each. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the services from Polytec, Inc in support of a scanninglaser Doppler vibrometer system upgrade. The acquistion of this system upgrade willsupport a variety of projects wherein complicated structual models must be generatedquickly and accurately and engineering results produced and disseminated to ourcustomers. Purchasing from any other vendor would require a complete new system, hours oftraining, and a higher dollar cost. It is in the best interest of the Government toacquire these services from Polytec, Inc. because it would take a substantial amount oftime and money to duplicate this effort.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 06/08/2009.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
