- RECOVERY: THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER REMEDIAL ACTION CONTRACT II (RAC II), CONTRACT EP-S5-06-01. RECOVERY: The purpose of this modification is to obligate $5,900,000 for the Continental Steel Site in Kokomo Indiana. The period of performance for the work assignment is projected to be from 6/1/09 to 2/28/11. This work is to provide for the remediation of slag pile processing area and groundwater in Kokomo, Indiana. This RAC II contract was competitively awarded in strict accordance with the FAR but is not fixed price. Although the Agency's RACS II contracts were not initially awarded as fixed price contracts, the contract structure was selected to ensure the greatest incentive for efficient and economical performance given the types of services to be performed. RACS II contracts were the most appropriate contractual vehicles for fulfilling the requirements of the ARRA in the most prudent business manner within the time constraints imposed, and consistent with EPA plans to promote the goals of the ARRA, All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
