- Synopsis: The Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Ft. Belvoir, VA intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contract to LanStar Systems Inc to provide expansion and enhancement of the inside cable plant infrastructure at DAUs California, MD site. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 238210, size standard of $14M. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, as another contractor working on the existing infrastructure would nullify the current 25 year warranty on the cable. As such, this is a follow-on to contract W91QV1-07-P-0151, and is under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), there is continual production of the highly specialized equipment, and it is likely that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government and provide unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agencys requirement. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of the publication of this notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement on a brand name or equal basis including submitting specifications for an equal product.
