- Wage Determination Statement of Work Solicitation The U.S. Department of Commerce, Des Moines Weather Forecast Office (WFO) 9607 NW Beaver Drive in Johnston, IA is in need lawn care and other grounds maintenance services such as landscaping, weed control for the radar building for a base period and 4 options years. DESCRIPTION: The contractor will be responsible for providing lawn care services for the base period beginning approximately June 8, 2009 through April 30, 2010 with four 12-month option periods. The contractor shall be responsible for satisfactorily managing and performing these services including but not limited to the following services: Mow all grassy areas around the property. Rake, as needed, to remove excess clippings, leaves or other debris. Remove clippings from the parking areas and sidewalks. Remove weeds and/or grasses growing from shrubbery and mulch-covered areas. Provide edge along all sidewalks as necessary. Bag and remove all clippings and debris from the site. Prune trees in mowed areas. Provide proper upkeep of flowers and shrubs garden. Fertilize lawn and treat weeds, crabgrass and insects. Apply weed control to all graveled areas at the radar facility located approximately 12/4 mile south of the WFO. Contractor shall be responsible for supplying all equipment, materials, and supplies. Services to be performed under this contract shall be performed during hours approved by the Meteorologist-In-Charge (MIC) or a designated representative. Inspection and acceptance of work will be done by the MIC or their designated representative. Any business capable of completing these services is encouraged to respond to this announcement. The NAICS code for this action is 561730. The Government prefers the payment to be made by the Government Purchase Card. All contractors doing business with the Central Region Acquisition Division (CRAD) must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) or certification with the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). This is a Government initiative that was designed by the Integrated Acquisition Environment (IAE) to replace the paper Representations and Certifications (Reps & Certs) process. No award can be made unless the vendor is registered with CCR.
