- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions posed by interested Contractors as follows: 1.Liner Material: Polyethylene or other similar chemical resistant (acid and base) materials? Would sprayed and Teflon Coating be acceptable? A: Spray coating and Teflon will be our second choice if no one can provide PE or similar material. 2.Is the vendor expected to plumb the airlock, "Air lock shall include a 3.125mm (.125") NPT pipe-tapped opening for connection of purge gas and a 6.25mm (.25") NPT outlet to venting system"? A: Yes, vendor needs to connect the box to our venting system. 3.I don't think we can fit our standard 10" oval in the space required, can we adjust dimensions slightly? A: Our defined size will be considered first. If No one can meet the size request, we can choose the closest one. 4.Doors: 0.25m x 0.25m with gasketed doors, on both sides of chamber; doors open inward; pivot upward for all the doors for space-saving. This statement does not match the photos, please explain? A: I changed that in our revised Solicitation. No strict required on the open direction. 5.Transfer chamber pressure gauge with readings from 0 to -725mm (0 to -29 inches) of mercury. Is the airlock under full vacuum at any time? A: Just for leak test purpose, not for operation. 6.Maintain less than 5 ppm oxygen levels and less than 50 ppm moisture levels. Atmospheres less than 5 ppm oxygen usually require a scrubber system. Does NIST plan on this, or should we quote a scrubber separately? A: If extra system required, please add the cost in the quote. 7.Load lock door shall be at the front. Viewing window on the load lock door is required. Is this a front hatchback window? A: A window similar to the drawing. Other type window should be fine as long as we can see inside.
