- MISSILE DEFENSE AGENCY DIRECTOR’S INDUSTRY DAY CONFERENCE THIS IS A STRATEGIC MARKET RESEARCH SPECIAL NOTICE INVITING VENDORS TO ATTEND THE SUBJECT CONFERENCE. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is sponsoring a day-and-a-half conference to educate industry on MDA. We invite current and potential contractors and suppliers to hear from the Agency Director, senior staff and Program Managers as to the current focus of our activities; major acquisitions on the horizon; our desire to further expand our supplier base; encourage fresh ideas from industry; increase competition, and finally, to provide industry the opportunity to hold one-on-one discussions with senior leaders to address any ideas, questions or concerns they may have for MDA. In addition to an address by the Agency Director, the Ballistic Missile Defense System Architect, and the Directors of Acquisition, Engineering, Test and Agency Operations, the following programs will present overviews and be available for individual one-on-one discussions with company representatives: •Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) •Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) •Command, Control, Battle Management and Communication (C2BMC) •Ground Based Missile Defense (GMD) •Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense •Sensors •Targets and Countermeasures •Advance Technology •Space Tracking and Surveillance •Airborne Laser THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BID, QUOTE, OR PROPOSAL. Entities interested in doing business with MDA are encouraged to attend the conference. Details for the conference are as follows: Conference: Missile Defense Agency Directors Industry Day Conference Theme: “Educating Industry on the Missile Defense Agency” When: The conference is scheduled from 8:00 to 5:00 (CDT) on June 24th and 8:00 – 1:00 on June 25th 2009. (Note: Registration begins at 7:00AM each day) Where: The Westin Huntsville, 6800 Governors West, NW, Huntsville, AL 35806 Phone: (256) 428-2000 How to register: Registration will open on Wednesday May 27th and close at Thursday June 18th 2009 or earlier if the conference limit has been reached. To register, please go to www.MDAIndustryDay.com Pre-conference registration is required and is limited to the first 450 registrants. Please note that due to the wealth of information MDA wishes to share with industry within a limited time-frame, registrants will be required to submit questions and request one-on-one discussions with program and functional leaders during the registration process. Assignment of one-on-one time slots will be designated on a first come / first served basis. Conference objective: An open forum for current and potential contractors and suppliers to understand the Missile Defense Agency’s new direction and future contracting opportunities. Purpose: The purpose of the conference is three fold: • To provide Industry partners with a way ahead for each program given MDAs revised focus. • To advertise to Industry our plans to expand our supplier base and encourage fresh ideas/increased competition. • To provide Industry the opportunity to hold one-on-one discussions with senior leadership to address questions/concerns. Attendees will gain insight into the MDA business climate.
