- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Atlantic, Norfolk, VA, intends to issue a sole source contract with Rolls-Royce for the Overhauling of two(2)UML 1350H Z-Drives Propulsion Units. Rolls Royce is the original equipment manufacturer and sole source supplier of parts for the 1350H Z Drives Propulsion Units. Award will be made in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 – Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This contract will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responses received within 7 days after the date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, this acquisition is expected to be issued as a Sole Source to Rolls-Royce. Questions may be referred to Tara Holloway at (757) 628-4754. If your firm believes it is capiable of performing the overhaul of the Z-Drives Propulsion Units you must submit: (a) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers; (b) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two (2) references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 26 MAY 2009 at 1000 AM EST. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on your firm's capability.
