- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 has an urgent need for continuity of Autotransfusion Services in accordance with Health Care Resources Contracting-Buying Title 38 U.S.C. as outlined in VA Directives 1663. VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach intends to make a sole source award to Autotransfusion Professionals, Inc. (API), a small business, for the purchase of six months of Autotransfusion Services. API has proven to be capable of providing these services with outstanding performance ratings. In order to maintain uninterrupted patient care this has prompted contracting to expedite an order under FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and Compelling Urgency and FAR part 6.302-1, only one responsible source can provide these temporary services until a new contract can be establish. A single source will temporary procurement for six months and one option of six months, if needed; covered by FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services for Autotransfusion services is required in order to avoid cancellation of surgical cases. This is a temporary solution until a contract can be solicited by way of a full and open competition. This notice of intend is for information purposes only. No solicitation will be made available and all information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
