- Description
- The General Services Administration (GSA) is looking for an independent testing and inspection service company for the Comprehensive Seismic and Life-Safety Renovation Project for the southern half of the 1st Floor and for the 5th, 6th, and 8th Floors at the Federal Building, 300 North Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, California. The Scope of Work includes the *Recovery* upgrade of the HVAC system on the same floors. Partial funding for this scope will be paid using *Recovery* funds. The purpose of this requirement is for Special Inspection Services (including the furnishing of all materials, apparatus, labor and any required insurance) for testing and inspecting procedures, sampling, field and laboratory testing, preparing and submitting report(s) and provide inspection services during construction. Sampling will be performed in accordance with current applicable standards, including, but not limited to, ASTM, AWS, ACI, and AISC. All work shall be performed by qualified personnel under the supervision of a Registered Professional Engineer. The estimated cost is from $50,000.00 to $80,000.00. Estimated completion time is 18 months. The floor areas in question for construction will be vacated during each phase (1 - 4) of work. Each person from the testing company who will be on-site will be required to obtain Government Security Clearance and identification badge. This action is being solicited on as a 100& Small Business Set-Aside and will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 15.3. Offerors will be required to submit a fully developed Technical and Price Proposal. The Request for Proposal (RFP) Package will be issued on or about May 20, 2009. Closing date and time for submission of Technical and Price Proposals is on or about June 12, 2009. A Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Walk are scheduled on or about May 26, 2009 at the project site. NOTE: The release of the RFP Package on May 20, 2009 is contingent upon approval of the Acquisition Plan for this proposed contract action.
