- Description
- This proposal will be issued to obtain a firm fixed price and cost type contract for engineering services. Th e primary purpose of this task is to provide engineering services for medium caliber gun and ammunition feed systems to maintain and improve weapon system reliability, maintainability, and supportability. In support of M61A1, M61A2, and GAU-8 gun and ammunition feed systems. At the request of the Aircraft Guns Engineering Flight the contractor will perform tasks related to medium caliber gun system reliability. E fforts shall include problem identification studies, product deficiency studies, failure histories and reliability studies, technical data package updates, solid modeling, finite element analysis, developing and testing prototypes in support of engineering analysis and training, and supporting medium caliber user requests. The only approved source for this item is General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products. See Note 22.
