- Description
- A modified Robel pole will be used to measure vegetation structure for the study. The objectives are to determine the relationship between visual obstruction readings and clipped standing herbage. Eighty six transects, 200 meters each, with visual obstruction readings will be collected at 10 meter intervals. On each transect (at 50, 100, 150 and 200 meters) standing herbage will be clipped, oven dried and weighed to the nearest 0.1 gram. GPS coordinates will be collected at each transect. One Excel Spreadsheet with all Robel pole data, harvest data, and GPS locations will be developed. A map with all transect locations will be generated. In addition the data summaries and final data files will include electronically generated files of Excel spreadsheets with data. Work will begin in late June and end by October 30, depending upon weather conditions. Summaries of data on Excel spreadsheets will be completed between June 2009 and October 30, 2009. Data summaries will be submitted and completed by December 30, 2009 of all data.
